Many companies suffer from their historically grown IT landscape and its rigid structures. Event-driven architectures and brokers provide a new approach to networking IT and OT systems in a scalable manner. In this way, the potential of digital transformation and Industry 4.0 can finally be utilised. The technology, its use and potential will be presented based on real applications in industry. The performance and effect of event-driven architectures will be demonstrated based on experience from various companies.
Fabian Igelmund: Project manager and PhD student at FIR e.V. at RWTH Aachen University in the field of information management, with a focus on information technology management. I developed a passion for technology at an early age, which I can now fully live out in my job. I gained extensive experience in IT consulting and quality management during my dual studies in business informatics and my master's degree in business development management. In my previous role as a Senior Service Consultant at a German software manufacturer for enterprise service management solutions, I was responsible for the introduction and further development of group-wide IT tools as well as the design and implementation of quality management processes. In my current role, I am particularly involved in IT architectures, especially Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), and lead research and industry projects dealing with the use of new technologies to optimize business processes and support business strategies. With my Master's degree in Business Development Management and extensive experience in IT consulting, I bring in-depth expertise in developing innovative strategies for implementing new technologies in companies.
The Pop in Your Job:
I particularly love my job because of the variety and the constant new challenges. Every project, every customer brings unique requirements, which makes continuous learning and the development of new, innovative solutions essential. Personal exchange and networking are essential elements of my work - I appreciate meeting new people and making connections. As a technology enthusiast, I am particularly fascinated by working with the latest innovations. Currently, I am particularly interested in IT architectures, especially Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), as I am convinced that EDA is a key to solving many of today's business challenges. It fulfills me to see the additional value we have created at the end of a project by optimizing processes and implementing sustainable solutions.
